Virgin Atlantic Airways was founded in 1982 by the Virgin Group. Headed by Richard Branson, Virgin operates between London and North America. Other routes from the UK include Australia, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. Virgin's main competitor is the well known British Airways that competes from the hubs of London's Gatwick and Heathrow. Virgin attempts to differentiate itself from BA by offering cheap flights and through their "upper class" business that has flat beds, in-flight massage services, and complementary airport pick up and drop off. The Virgin fleet is somewhat small consisting of only 32 planes, but with their discount airline tickets and premium business, they are tough competition for rival British Airways.
