With Great Bay on one side and Little Bay on the other, Divi Little Bay Beach Resort offers a view of the Caribbean that's unparalleled. The resort is minutes from some of the Caribbean's best shopping and dining in Phillipsburg, St. Maarten. The island is the smallest territory in the world shared by two sovereign states, France and the Netherlands. Philipsburg is the Dutch capital and tends to be more frenzied and bustling with tourists than it's French counterpart, Marigot. Duty free shopping has turned the island into a virtual mall and the lack of a local sales tax makes it even more appealing. Active pursuits include golfing, horseback riding, scuba diving, tennis and windsurfing.
Hotel Features. The resort has a casual ambience and features fantastic views, particularly from the romantic infinity edge pool. There are a total of three pools situated about the resort and there is deluxe health spa on site. A shopping promenade is located within the resort and features boutiques, gift shops and a cafe with computers and high speed Internet access. Complimentary cocktail parties are held on Mondays and Thursdays and there are a few restaurants on the property. Other services include a 24 hour front desk, concierge and business services.
Guestrooms. Each guest room is decorated in tropical patterns with tile floors and features a balcony. Cable television and VCRs are standard amenities, and in room safes are provided.
Expert Tip. The tip of the peninsula on which the resort sits features the ruins of Fort Amsterdam. The colonial era structure once helped to protect the Dutch side of the island and lies on a flat top hill accessible by a steep path.
