Located at the tip of the Medoc between the Atlantic coast and the Gironde estuary, Les Dunes du Médoc is a new resort complex 300 metres away from seven kilometres of pristine beach, 17 kilometres from Royan. The 76 apartment style guestrooms feature modern furnishings with a decor based on local traditions, and include fully equipped kitchens, televisions, telephones and electric coffee makers. All apartments open on to furnished loggias with views either of the pine forest or swimming pool.
Guests can enjoy the 120 square metre swimming pool, perhaps lounging on deckchairs beneath parasols on the accompanying man made beach while children are kept amused by the playground. A short journey of a kilometre will take guests to the centre of the resort at Soulac, where additional shops and services can be found, while visitors with cars can park safely in the resort car park. The famed Médoc vineyards are 13 kilometres away, while the channels and wetlands of Queyrac can be visited 23 kilometres away. There are many recreational activities on offer nearby. The Soulac sur Mer Surf School runs surfing and bodyboarding courses, alongside the rental of rollerblades, longskates, surf and body boards and skimboards. Cycling, hiking and horse riding trails can be found nearby, with introductory horse riding lessons available. Thirteen tennis courts and instructional courses are on offer at Tennis de la Foret, and there is an 18 hole mini golf course in the town centre. Further options include archery and adventure courses, land yachting, beach clubs and a flying school at a local aerodrome, with a parachute school elsewhere. The railway station at Soulac is a kilometre away, with Bordeaux Merignac Airport 93 kilometres away, an approximate driving time of 75 minutes.
