Airline Consolidator Tickets on flights.com

What are Consolidator Tickets?

Consolidator tickets are discounted flights that are usually available for international travel, mainly Europe. Once your reservation is ticketed, these fares are exactly the same as a full priced ticket with some restrictions (see the below). When an agency or travel provider produces enough volume, airlines offer these "bulk fares" as an incentive to fill their extra capacity. Consolidator fares are cheaper then published airfare and are not offered through the airline. There are several differences between consolidator tickets and regular tickets:

  • Consolidator tickets have limited availability.
  • Consolidator tickets carry a high penalty for change and may possibly be non-refundable.
  • Consolidator tickets have limited availability the closer you book to your travel date.

Consolidator fares must be honored and regarded as a regular ticket and must be honored by the carrier. Therefore, the difference is very small and a tiny tradeoff for saving up to 70% off the cost of published airfare.
