Northwest Arkansas Regional is a public airport located just outside of FAYETTEVILLE , AR. XNA opened in November 1998 as a replacement airport for commercial traffic previously served by Fayetteville's aging Drake Field. American Airlines is the major carrier, formerly serving 6 cities, and currently 3 from XNA. Much of the traffic is Wal-Mart related based in Bentonville.
